Artist Statement: "With this specific collection of paintings, each canvas represents not only a physical place where I reside but also a moment in time. The objective was to blend and translate my experiences and key cultural components into colors and textures, utilizing vibrancy and shadows to signify lighter and heavier periods, respectively. The cross-hatching technique was intended to evoke the apperance of tapestry, a compilation of all these inner and outer elements that emerge when one finds themselves in a foreign place". -Mayte
